Lincs2Nepal

We first came across this local Charity through their Facebook page when the devastating earthquake hit Nepal in April 2015.

We followed the efforts of the team as they fought to gain access to the mountain villages, where so much of the damage had occured. And then followed the slow progress of building shelters, providing food and drink etc and gradually helping these desperately poor people, a minority tribe, who had lost just about everything, to rebuild their lives. More challenges have come during this winter and there have been deaths from cold. There is currently a request for donations to supply thermal blankets, via JustGiving.

Sponsoring Education

In 2015, Anahata began sponsoring the education of two of the children, Sapona and Prakash, as we feel the future lies with the children and this is the only way we can help.

Sending Photos

We keep in touch with the children through Lincs2Nepal, sending photos and letters. The children respond by sending us a letter and a photo with news from Garry about their progress. Sapona seems to be growing in quiet confidence. All Nepalese children who go to school are required to take a series of tests and Sapona achieved a brilliant 85%. Prakash, the older child at 8, achieved an amazing 87%. Both children seem to be thriving. As Garry says “because of our hygiene projects, our nutritious school dinners and clean drinking water, both children ar much healthier and energetic”. So here are the latest photos and letters from these two beautiful children – we are delighted and privileged to be able to help in this small way towards their development.
