Firstly, the course does not require any previous reflexology training as we start from the very beginning and lead you by the hand!

It is worth noting that the Level 5 Diploma in Applied Reflexology for Integrative Medicine is in the Health Sector “Nursing, Subjects and Vocations Allied to Medicine”.  The Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology comes under “Health and Social Care”.

This truly holistic Level 5 course is ideal for both medically trained people looking to move into the Complementary Health sector and is equally suited to newcomers with no prior knowledge of Healthcare and Anatomy and Physiology.

The qualification is equivalent to 1st and 2nd years at University with an opportunity to upgrade your qualification to a full university degree upon completion of your initial training. We have access to the course, and accreditation via our partnership with the Centralia Reflexology Education Authority (CREA). We have chosen this route to qualification as we felt there was a great need for a reflexology centred qualification and, to date, awarding bodies in England don’t feel able to offer this. As a private school, not dependent on Government funding, we are better placed to make this choice. We see this as a very exciting and forward development for our profession.

Within the classroom there will there will be theory alongside hands-on practical work and there is a home-study program of assignments and case studies. 

On successful completion of portfolios and practical assessments – no exams –  graduates are eligible to join the key reflexology membership organisation for this qualification – CAREA –  and the government regulatory body The Complementary and Natural Health Council. They will also be eligible to be included on the Duopody Register if they wish, open only to graduates of this qualification.

It is important that we clarify that Integrative Medicine is about the training recognising the importance of the whole person and we will explore the relevance of other Health Professionals (including medics) as well as other important lifestyle factors.  We will be teaching so much more than a reflexology treatment – students will learn how to get involved with empowering people – their clients – to actively engage in all aspects of their own health.

Our accredited Course gives a thorough and professional grounding in both theoretical and practical skills, at the same time ensuring a very enjoyable experience. We include training in Hand Reflexology, Maternity Care and Palliative Care within the course.

Coursework is approximately 50% teaching and 50% practical hands on experience. You begin working on the feet from Class 1 and ready for simple treatments from Class 2 and case studies from Class 4 when you will have the basics you need to perform a treatment safely and competently.  We build on this over the following months.  There is a minimum of 165 hours contact teaching time.  Extra time to finish all course work can be extended under certain conditions.

The practical work of 100 treatments is covered  over the course, building up as we progress, using clinical clients. So, you will be writing up your case studies as we progress through the course, gradually building up your knowledge and understanding.

As the course runs on a modular basis, we can be flexible if you find you need to miss a module due to family matters, illness etc.  And we offer Zoom tutorials at no extra charge when you feel you need them, on a 1-2-1 basis.  We also offer a monthly Zoom get-together to share experiences, any difficulties etc..

The full syllabus for the Course contains 8 Units with a Total Credit Value of 120 Credits.

7 of these Units are Level 5 which equates to year 2 of degree

1 of the Units is Level 6, equates to final year degree – and is, like the studies, very student/tutor friendly!
